Categories we accept

Cars & Sedans
1990-present

Cars and sedans typically go to auction or are sold to dealers, providing funding for our community programs. If they’re in great shape, they can fetch a good price, but even older models can be recycled for parts.

In Columbus, we see many sedans as daily commuters, making them valuable for both resale and parts to keep local vehicles on the road.

Pickup Trucks
1995-present

Pickup trucks are often auctioned off due to their high demand. They can also be salvaged for parts, ensuring that your donation contributes directly to community services and support.

With the growing popularity of home improvement projects in Columbus, many locals are looking for reliable pickup trucks to assist in their tasks.

SUVs & Crossovers
2000-present

SUVs and crossovers are usually resold at auction or repurposed for parts. Their versatility makes them popular among buyers, which helps maximize your donation's impact.

Columbus families often favor SUVs for their spaciousness, making these vehicles highly sought after in our community.

Motorcycles
1995-present

Motorcycles can be auctioned or salvaged for parts, contributing to community grants. Riders often seek these vehicles for their sporty appeal, keeping the local biking culture vibrant.

With scenic routes around Columbus, motorcycles are a common sight during the warmer months, making them an exciting donation option.

RVs & Campers
1990-present

RVs and campers can be auctioned to enthusiasts or recycled for parts. Their spaciousness and comfort are ideal for vacations, making them valuable even in used condition.

Many in Columbus enjoy weekend getaways, making RVs a popular choice for those looking to hit the road and explore Ohio.

Boats
1990-present

Boats can be auctioned or sold for parts, providing essential funding. Local waterways often attract avid boaters, creating a steady interest in donated boats.

Though Columbus isn't on the coast, many residents enjoy boating on nearby lakes, making boat donations a unique and valued contribution.

Commercial Vehicles
1990-present

Commercial vehicles usually go to auction, where small business owners can purchase them for a fraction of the cost, allowing your donation to support local entrepreneurship.

With a growing small business community in Columbus, commercial vehicle donations help provide affordable options for startups.

Non-running Vehicles
1995-present

Even non-running vehicles can be accepted as they can be recycled for parts or salvaged. This allows us to turn any donation into funding for local programs.

Many local residents have older vehicles they no longer use; donating these helps ensure they don't sit unused while also benefiting the community.

Condition guide

We at Steel Wheels strive to make the donation process as easy as possible. Vehicles that are running typically require minimal paperwork and can directly contribute to our funding efforts. However, if your vehicle isn't running, don't worry! We still accept non-running vehicles, as they can often be salvaged for parts or recycled, ensuring your donation still helps fund local programs.

For vehicles with salvage titles, we may have specific guidelines to follow, but it doesn't rule out your ability to donate. In general, our goal is to provide all vehicles a chance to be put to good use, whether they are running or not. Reach out to us about your vehicle’s condition, and we can discuss the next steps!
